The objective of the Flight Instructor (FI(A)) training program is to prepare licensed pilots to achieve the professional competence required for the issuance of the FI(A) qualification. Course Objectives:
Review and update the instructor’s technical knowledge for student flight training.
Train instructors to teach basic theoretical subjects and flight exercises.
Ensure the instructor’s flight performance meets high EASA safety and proficiency standards.
Teach foundational teaching methods and their application to PPL(A) level training.
Through a combination of theoretical lessons and practical dual flight training, applicants gain the expertise to deliver professional flight instruction both in the classroom and the cockpit. Comprehensive Theoretical Training
The course focuses on teaching and learning methods, preparing applicants to instruct students effectively. You’ll engage in self-education and active participation in the theoretical training of students, covering key topics from PPL(A) and CPL(A) ground school. This ensures you are fully prepared before starting practical flight instruction.
Hands-On Practical Training
Gain real-world experience with 30 hours of dual flight instruction, flying from the right seat under supervision. Develop the skills to deliver safe, effective, and professional flight lessons while managing student progress.
ATPL(A) or CPL(A) license holders: Minimum of 200 flight hours, including at least 100 hours as pilot-in-command (PIC).
PPL(A) license holders: Minimum of 150 flight hours as pilot-in-command (PIC).
Cross-country experience: At least 20 hours of PIC cross-country flight, covering a total distance of 540 km (300 nm) or more, including full-stop landings at two different aerodromes.
Entry flight test: Successfully complete a proficiency check flight with an FI-qualified instructor, in accordance with EASA PART-FCL regulations, to assess readiness for the FI(A) course.
