Training Objective
The IR(A) Multi-Engine (ME) Course at Albanian International Air Academy (AIAA) prepares pilots for advanced IFR operations in multi-engine aircraft, in full compliance with PART-FCL regulations.
The program develops the theoretical knowledge and practical instrument flying skills required to operate safely beyond IMC conditions and successfully complete the IR(A) theoretical exams and skill test.

IR(A) Multi Engine (ME) – Instrument Rating Course in Albania

You will develop the skills required for precise multi-engine aircraft control solely by reference to instruments, including instrument departures, en-route IFR procedures, holding patterns, precision and non-precision approaches, and engine-out procedures under IFR.
The program prepares you for the EASA IR(A) theoretical examinations and the official instrument rating skill test, ensuring you meet the highest European aviation safety and multi-engine operational standards.

Theoretical & Procedural Training Includes:
Preparation and planning of IFR flights using aircraft flight manual performance data and relevant ATS documentation
Procedures for transitioning from VFR to IFR flight after takeoff
Execution of Standard Instrument Departures (SID) and Standard Arrival Routes (STAR) in accordance with EASA operational standards
Conducting IFR en-route operations and associated airspace procedures
Holding patterns and waiting (holding) procedures
Precision and non-precision instrument approaches up to specified MDA(H) and DA(H) minima
Correct execution of missed approach procedures
Safe landings from instrument approaches, including circling approaches
Aircraft handling techniques, flight maneuvers, and understanding individual aircraft flight characteristics under IFR
Application of normal, abnormal, and emergency procedures during IFR flight operations
Practical Training Includes:
20 hours of flight training (aircraft)
35 hours of FNPT simulator training
Applicants enrolling in the IR(A) Multi-Engine course at AIAA – Albanian International Air Academy, Tirana, Albania must meet the following requirements:
Possess a valid Night Rating qualification for VFR night operations
Hold a current Multi-Engine Piston rating – MEP(L)
Have successfully completed ATPL(A) theoretical knowledge training (Airline Transport Pilot theory)
Hold a valid Class 1 or Class 2 Medical Certificate
Have completed a minimum of 50 hours of cross-country navigation flight time as Pilot-in-Command (PIC)
