Training Objective
The objective of the Multi-Engine Piston (Land) MEP(L) rating training is to provide pilots with comprehensive theoretical knowledge and practical flight skills required to operate multi-engine aircraft safely and confidently. The course prepares candidates to successfully complete the official multi-engine skill test and to manage both normal and emergency situations under Visual Flight Rules (VFR).
During MEP(L) training at AIAA – Albanian International Air Academy, pilots develop advanced aircraft handling techniques, engine management skills, asymmetric flight control, performance calculations, and emergency procedure management. Special emphasis is placed on safety, situational awareness, and correct decision-making in multi-engine operations.
Our EASA-compliant MEP(L) program in Tirana ensures that pilots are fully prepared to operate multi-engine aeroplanes to the highest professional standards.
Course Description
The Multi-Engine Piston (Land) MEP(L) Rating is an advanced qualification that allows pilots to operate multi-engine aircraft and significantly expand their professional flying capabilities. At AIAA – Albanian International Air Academy, we provide professional EASA-compliant MEP(L) training in Albania, designed to prepare pilots for safe and confident multi-engine operations.
Our MEP(L) course in Tirana follows EASA standards and combines focused theoretical instruction with intensive practical flight training. Students develop essential skills in asymmetric flight control, engine management, aircraft performance calculations, emergency procedures, and advanced decision-making under Visual Flight Rules (VFR).
Multi-engine flying requires a higher level of precision, situational awareness, and technical understanding. During training, pilots learn to manage engine failures, abnormal situations, and performance limitations while maintaining full control and safety. Building strong procedural discipline and confidence is critical for successfully passing the MEP skill test and operating multi-engine aircraft professionally.
By choosing AIAA, students benefit from:
EASA-standard MEP(L) training in Albania
Advanced multi-engine flight instruction
Experienced and qualified flight instructors
Preparation for CPL, IR, and professional airline pathways
Take the next step in your aviation career with our MEP(L) rating training at AIAA – Albanian International Air Academy in Tirana, Albania.
The scope of the MEP(L) training reflects the operational complexity of multi-engine aircraft and ensures that graduates are fully competent in operating the aircraft, its systems, and equipment in accordance with the approved Flight Manual.
The program includes 7 hours of theoretical instruction and 6 hours of practical flight training, combining structured ground school preparation with intensive in-flight exercises.
Training covers:
Comprehensive theoretical instruction on multi-engine aircraft systems and performance
Detailed familiarization with the specific aircraft Flight Manual
Practical flight training in a certified multi-engine aeroplane
Execution of normal operating procedures
Emergency and abnormal procedures training
Advanced piloting techniques during asymmetric flight, including simulated engine failure scenarios
The course is designed to develop technical precision, situational awareness, and confident aircraft handling, ensuring safe multi-engine operations under VFR conditions and successful completion of the MEP skill test.
